Today, is a special day, 38 years ago today, that is, April 12, 1978, in the Panmun scenic area Rui Guangta's heavenly palace (tower heart cellar room) among the discovery of a thousand years of sleep in the Five Dynasties, the Northern Song Dynasty, the treasures of the ages —— true beads relic treasure block.

On this day in 1978, three Suzhou elementary school students climbed up the Ruiguang Pagoda after school because they were greedy for fun, and inadvertently touched a loose brick in the heart of the pagoda, which opened a closed cave. A priceless treasure that had been sleeping for a thousand years——True Pearl Relic Treasure Tower was thus discovered.

The banner is 122.6 cm in height and was placed in two layers of wooden letters at the time of its discovery. The main part is made of nanmu, and is divided into three parts from the bottom to the top——Sumeru, the Buddha's palace, and the pagoda.

The beautiful shape, the precious materials, and the exquisite craftsmanship of the True Pearl Relic Treasure Block are rare in the world. According to the Buddhist saying of the world “s seven treasures”, the maker selects valuable materials such as crystal, agate, amber, pearl, sandalwood, gold and silver, and uses more than ten special techniques such as jade carving, gold and silver silk preparation, gold and silver skin carving, sandalwood carving, crystal carving, lacquer carving, gold tracing, bead piercing and ancient color painting. It can be said that the work is exquisite. The pearls used to decorate the whole real bead relics are almost 40,000; the 17 sandalwood statues on the tower are even more impressive, each less than 10 cm high, which is extremely difficult to carve; however, the majestic posture of the Heavenly King, the graceful posture of the Heavenly Maiden, the angry look of the Rex, and the quiet majesty of the Buddha are all carved to perfection.

The prosperity and exquisiteness of Suzhou arts and crafts during the Five Dynasties and Northern Song Dynasty are evident from the True Pearl Relic Treasure Sculpture, as well as the high aesthetic standard and rich cultural connotation of the Wu people during the Five Dynasties and Northern Song Dynasty.

Now, the treasure building has been included in the Suzhou Museum, and has become the town treasure of the museum.
