Let the forest enter the city, let the city embrace the forest | Suzhou Cultural Tourism Group Youth League Committee and Suzhou Oriental Water City Company held a tree planting festival event north of the Panmen City Wall.

The spring breeze is warm, and everything is thriving. Yesterday was the 40th Arbor Day in our country. To accelerate the pace of urban greening, in the afternoon, the Youth League Committee of Suzhou Cultural Tourism Group, together with the joint Youth League branch of Suzhou Oriental Water City Company and the trade union members of Suzhou Oriental Water City Company, came to the restoration section of the Panmen City Wall to carry out the Arbor Day activity themed "Let the forest enter the city, let the city embrace the forest." 50 members planted trees at the Panmen City Wall restoration section, greening Suzhou with their actions and advocating the awareness of loving and protecting greenery.

General Secretary Xi said that afforestation is an important way to achieve blue skies, green lands, and clean water, and it is the most beneficial project for people's livelihood. We must mobilize the whole country and encourage everyone to plant trees and afforest, striving to turn the construction of a beautiful China into a conscious action of the people.

During the tree planting process, everyone first divided the work to move the saplings, buckets, and shovels to the planting site;

Next, everyone put on gloves, rolled up their sleeves, and used shovels to dig the soil, filling the trees into the pits, compacting the new soil, and building up the embankment, continuously planting osmanthus, cherry, crabapple, and loquat trees.

Under the guidance of the masters from the scenic area’s horticultural team, they carefully pruned the branches.

Then, they planted a row of forsythia branches by the river, which will surely bloom in clusters along the riverbank in the coming spring, welcoming the spring breeze.

After planting the trees, everyone wrote heartfelt messages around the theme of Arbor Day and hung them on the branches of the trees they planted. Some comrades also handmade tree protection signs, advocating for everyone to care for the trees.

Finally, tree protection signs were placed next to this batch of new saplings.

The purpose of this activity is to mobilize the masses to actively participate in voluntary tree planting activities, jointly greening and beautifying our home, and adding a touch of green to Suzhou.
