This year is the twentieth anniversary of the city of Suzhou and Riga, Latvia, this morning, the two city leaders came to the Panmun Scenic Area International Friendship Park, planting ginkgoes to commemorate the friendship between the two cities.

Riga is an old and beautiful European city, founded more than 800 years ago, rich in historical and cultural heritage, with a population of more than 800,000 and an area of 307 square kilometers.

In September 1997, Suzhou and Riga officially concluded a friendship city relationship. 20 years later, the two cities have been deepening their exchanges and cooperation in culture and other fields. The ginkgo transmits love, signifying the long-lasting friendship between the two cities!

In fact, the trees by the International Friendship Garden in Panmun Scenic Area are all commemorative trees planted by friendly people at home and abroad. In addition, there are also friendship gifts from various cities in various countries scattered in the middle, including the gondola given by the Italian water city of Venice; the friendship gift from the U.S. city of Portland——the Portland cabin and the sailboat Konstanz given by the German city of Konstanz.
