The 9th day of the ninth month of the lunar calendar is the Chongyang Festival, also known as the Chongyi Festival, Sun Autumn Festival, “ step autumn ”. The festival is generally celebrated with activities such as going out to enjoy autumn, climbing high and far, viewing chrysanthemums, placing dogwoods everywhere, eating chrysanthemum cake, and drinking chrysanthemum wine.

  The Chrysanthemum Festival was formed as early as the Warring States period, and was officially designated as a folk festival in the Tang Dynasty, and has been followed by all dynasties since then. 1989, the ninth day of the ninth month of the lunar calendar was designated as Old People's Day, advocating the whole society to establish a culture of respecting, honoring, loving and helping the elderly.
