With the strong support of Gusu District Government and Canglang Street and other departments, the 12th Suzhou Dragon Boat Festival 2016 will be held in Panmen Scenic Area from June 8 to 9, with the following activities.

I. Main idea and theme

Dragon Boat Festival is not only a traditional Chinese festival, but also one of the world-class non-foreign heritage projects, but also the people's delight “s festival ”. 2016 will continue the experience of previous sessions on the basis of highlighting the intersection of traditional culture and modern elements to strengthen the Dragon Boat cultural heritage. II. Main activity arrangements

(1) opening party: music, poetry and painting "Duanwu Daoist Love

Time: Wednesday, June 8, 2016, 7:00 p.m., approximately 40 minutes

Location: Panmun Scenic Area Lijing Building Water Stage

Reflecting Suzhou Oriental Water City & ldquo; water-friendly & rdquo; culture, the opening party was held to combine live-action performances with songs, dances, poems and other art forms, selecting elements of history, characters and traditions related to the Dragon Boat Festival to tell the story of the people, families and the Dragon Boat Festival. The evening is divided into five chapters: 1. dance: "big city"; 2. poetry recitation: "drunkenness"; 3. three-person dance: "painting tiger"; 4. song and dance: "zong love"; 5. chorus "dragon boat".

Theme 1: “Sifu Duanwu” Wu's clan ritual activities

Location: Inside the Wu Xiang Ancestral Hall in Panmen Scenic Area

Organized by: Suzhou Wuzixu Society and Panmen Scenic Area

Wu Zixu is the designer of the ancient city of Suzhou, folklore says that on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar “ Zixu died, the water fairy (Tao God) was born ” and on the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival “ sacrifice Wu Zixu, welcome the water fairy ” to promote the spirit of Wu Zixu's loyalty to the cause, love of the people and the country. The ritual ceremony is only arranged for the Wu clan representatives to attend, in accordance with traditional folk customs, consisting of the offering of flowers and toast, the reading of the sacrificial text, the incense worship, clan worship and other links.

Theme two: “Zongxiang Duanwu” fancy zongzi style exhibition

Dragon Boat Festival wrapping and eating zong is one of the distinctive folk customs, also has a strong mass base and interactive, participatory. In advance of the event, various kinds of zongzi were collected from the community in May, and more than 100 kinds of fancy zongzi will be displayed on site on the morning of June 9 to teach wrapping techniques.

Theme three: “Poetic Dragon Boat Festival” the third Wu Di Dragon Boat Festival poetry meeting

Location: East courtyard of Wu Xiang Ancestral Hall in Panmen Scenic Area

Organized by: Gusu Evening News, Canglang Poetry Club

Number of people: about 50 people

This year's poetry collection is based on metrical poetry, and famous poets from Suzhou will be invited as judges to award the first, second and third prizes as well as the outstanding prizes. The winning works will be published in a special edition of Gusu Evening News, and a collection of poems will be published.

Theme Four: “Parent-child Dragon Boat Festival” T-shirt graffiti parent-child show

Time: June 9

Location: West Square of Lijing Building, Panmen Scenic Area

Organized by: “Good Family Style” social organizations

Number of people: about 100 people

Mainly for community families, five teachers guided parents and children to hand-paint on T-shirts together, and then invited children to walk on stage wearing their creations and asked judges to score them. Through parent-child hand-painting of Dragon Boat Festival customs and the runway show to introduce the Dragon Boat Festival story, children and young parents will have a better understanding of traditional culture.

Theme five: “ creative Dragon Boat Festival ” life daily necessities design bazaar

Location: Rui Guang Tower Square, Pan Men Scenic Area

Organized by: Canglang Street Cultural Federation

Organize college students and entrepreneurs to design and produce a batch of daily necessities depicting Suzhou Dragon Boat Festival customs. 40 pieces of works are expected to be exhibited, fully demonstrating the Dragon Boat Festival elements and Suzhou craft innovations, allowing traditional culture to permeate the lives of young people and continuously injecting the vitality of the times in the inheritance.

Theme six: “Fashion Dragon Boat ” Suzhou cheongsam show

Location: Panmun scenic promenade, water stage

Organized by: Canglang Street“s light creative pumping station”

Number of people: about 100 people

Cheongsam is one of the most splendid phenomena and forms of Chinese dress culture. The event takes the form of plane display and live show, with an open stage to welcome cheongsam-loving ladies to walk on stage. At the same time, the collection “Suzhou Dragon Boat Festival eight scenes” and according to the eight scenes draw cheongsam patterns, through tie-dye, hand-painting, embroidery and other means to show the creative combination of Chinese cheongsam and Suzhou Dragon Boat Festival.

Special note: On the day of Dragon Boat Festival, visitors wearing cheongsam are free to visit the park!

Theme seven: “Fingertip Dragon Boat ” non-traditional cultural youth craft joint exhibition

Number of people: about 50 people

In recent years, Gusu District has achieved fruitful results in the protection of non-heritage through the attention and investment in the protection of traditional culture. This time, the handmade works of young artists and community artists will be organized, which are expected to include about 100 pieces of works such as jade carving, nuclear carving, gold inlay, copper art, lacquer craft, sculpture, jewelry making, Su fan and straw weaving craft.
